Crater Lake

Richard and I went to the Medford, Oregon area for a quick trip without the kids. I actually had a work function to attend, so we turned it into a mini-getaway by driving to Crater Lake. We picked a great fall day with lots of sunshine and Crater Lake was as smooth as glass.

There is still a mini volcano in the middle of the lake. The blue color of the water is so unbelievable and you can't really tell in the pictures.

All along the road were these snow poles. The area obviously gets lots of snow!

This was part of the Rogue Gorge of the Upper Rogue River. The road to Crater Lake follows the Rogue River.

Greenbluff again

We ventured up to Greenbluff again with some neighbors.
Cade and Ragan are posing in the pumpkin patch with Elsa.

Cade went on a pony ride.

Ragan thought she wanted to, but then started crying when she realized she had to get on the pony.

Greenbluff

We went to Greenbluff on Sunday morning to get pumpkins and eat pumpkin donuts. It was a beautiful day of sunshine which of course means it was extremely busy by the time we headed home around 1:30.

Ragan was brave enough to ride on the "Little Toot" train with Cade this year.

Cade and Ragan had a great time in the hay maze at the Harvest House. Admission to the maze also included several different jump castles. Loran took Ragan in, too, so she was really excited!

Cade's winner ball

Apparently, Cade's kindergarten teacher gives out a prize every month during Wildcat recess to the student that has followed the rules. Cade was the winner for September and brought home this ball.

Ragan had to have her picture taken with a ball, too....

Our LIttle Visitor

We found a snake in our backyard last night under the hose reel box. Richard actually picked it up (wearing gloves) and threw it over the fence. Well, it came back! Cade found it in our driveway today! Check out Ragan's expression in this first picture.

I still don't believe it, but Cade actually made me catch the darn snake in his bug box. Cade helped, but I was completely freaked out (Richard was golfing).

He kept the snake long enough to show Richard when he got home from golfing and then he let it go. I'm sure we'll see it again!!

Landscaping 101

We got a whim to buy a tree for the backyard so we convinced our neighbor to go to the nursery with us today so we could use their pickup! Cade liked the orange circle Richard painted in the grass to mark the spot for the tree.

Cade is posing next to the new flowering plum tree.

There's our new tree! We're hoping it will provide some shade for those of you that don't enjoy the sun as much as me!
The kids are already enjoying popsicles in the shade of the tree.
