Fish on

Grandma Di and Grandpa Leroy came to visit us camping. Grandpa took the kids to Fenn Pond for some fishing. Cade caught a catfish! Not worth eating, but still fun to reel in a fish!

And Ragan always seems to catch the same blue fish on her Barbie pole....

I caught a catfish and a small trout. Cade thought it was funny to stick his thumb in the trout's mouth after Grandpa cleaned it.

But he was still mesmerized by all those snails....

Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails...

Memorial Day weekend was our maiden voyage in our new tent trailer and everything worked! We should have purchased one a long time ago!

We had a great time on the Selway River and great weather. On our first day, Cade caught this frog. We went for a walk and when we came back the paper plate had blown off the top of the frog's container and the frog had escaped.

So on our next walk Spencer found a snail and thus began our never ending search for snails over the weekend. Cade was mesmerized for hours just watching the snails.

By the end of the weekend we had found over 50 snails. We only let him bring 4 home and they are surprisingly still alive!

Mother's Day 2009

First we headed to REI for some Mother's Day shopping, then we spent some time at Riverfront Park since we finally had nice weather! Ragan couldn't wait to ride on the carousel!
A day at the park isn't complete without going down the red wagon slide!

O'Doherty's is conveniently across the street from the red wagon, so I got to have my favorite sandwich for lunch - the Hooligan & Hannigan. It was awesome! For dinner, we made my favorite chile rellenos with spanish rice. We even made homemade salsa and guacamole. We had some leftover cheese so we even made deep fried cheese sticks. We topped it all off with a strawberry margarita! Yum! It was a great day!!

Garden and Dance

We're being adventurous this year and starting our garden indoors. This is our first attempt so we'll post updates as it progresses to see if we're successful! Richard is currently working on the raised beds in our new and improved garden area.

Ragan started dance class last week - she was feeling left out with Cade involved in basketball, soccer, and T-ball. We even found her a dance outfit complete with tights and ballet slippers! She would wear this all day long if we would let her!

Li'l Slugger

Cade had opening ceremonies for T-ball on Saturday complete with the color guard and Star Spangled Banner played by trumpet! They made quite a big deal out of it! Then they served hot dogs and chips for everyone (even Richard ate a hot dog).

Cade's team is the Twins. His first game is May 2nd.

Cade and Richard reading the Sunday paper. Cade was reading a section with pictures of dogs and cats to adopt from the animal shelter.

Easter

It was a balmy 40 degrees and windy for the Easter egg hunt in Nezperce! Ragan found a golden egg and won a toy bowling set. Cade didn't find a golden egg, but his second cousin (?) Graeme didn't want his prize so he gave it to Cade (some beach digging toys). The kids didn't care it was cold, but the whole hunt only took 2 minutes!

The kids on Easter morning before church. I think I had numerous pictures taken in my childhood standing in front of the same screen door! The Easter bunny brought Ragan her first Barbie doll, two Leapster games and barrettes. Cade got a scooter and three Gameboy games.

I painted this ceramic basket and four eggs when I was a kid. Last year I had the kids paint the two yellow eggs. This year they painted the pink egg with "R" for Ragan and orange egg with "C" for Cade.
