Princess Ragan

We celebrated Ragan's 4th birthday!! She is a big fan of Hello Kitty these days and loved her cake!

For her birthday, we held a "backyard pool party". We put out the slip-n-slide, the kiddie pools, and a new pool in the picture that has a big slide attached to it. There were plent of water balloons and squirt guns, too. The kids had a blast!

And here is our Princess Ragan at her birthday party!

On her actual birthday, we took her to Applebee's for chicken strips, of course. They also gave her this awesome hot fudge sundae for the occasion. They don't give out balloons anymore, but it was family night so the kids got to make paper bag puppets.

Summertime

Oh, what a busy summer! After T-ball season, Cade started golfing on Tuesdays. He is doing a great job and loving it!

The kids also started swim lessons. Cade is still not excited about getting his face wet and definitely not his whole head. He made great improvements this year so maybe next year he'll go under!

Ragan is still not a big fan of the water, especially with a strange teacher.

On the last day of swim lessons, Cade took it easy just floating around the lazy river.

The Tooth Fairy

Saturday afternoon, Cade was eating popcorn and his tooth started to fall out! Of course, he didn't want us to touch it. Then he didn't want to eat rice at dinner because it looked too much like his tooth and he was afraid to swallow it. We went to the park later to play kickball. He just came over to Richard during the game and handed him the tooth! So uneventful for his first tooth falling out, but at least it was painless!
We put it in his treasure chest so the tooth fairy would find it. The tooth fairy brought a gold $1 coin, a Mario notebook and pencil. Now Cade is learning to whistle through the hole left by his tooth....

To Grandma's House We Go

The kids didn't want to leave Grandma Di's and Grandpa Leroy's house. They had a great time flying kites, picking currants, gooseberries and raspberries, and being Grandma and Grandpa's shadows.
Cade even found a pet frog as soon as he got out of the car. Grandpa promises to take care of her since Cade had to leave (Cade claimed he could tell it was a girl frog - I didn't ask, he's only six!).

Blackmail

So then we all decided to take our turn on the big slide - even Leroy!

My friend Jeff spilled his beer at the top of the slide (look closely) - it was quite slow and sticky after that! The picture is priceless, though!

Prairie Day 2009

Prairie Day 2009 We're Changin' It Up

The kids managed to sucker Loran into paying for their rides on Nezperce's version of a merry-go-round. Cade looks like he's working hard on the tractor with his tongue hanging out. Ragan is all Hollywood with her cool shades.

Of course, the kids' favorite part about Prairie Day is the Kid's Games (well, it might tie with the parade since they collect lots of candy thrown from the floats). Cade managed to get three medals (bronze for three-legged race, gold for balloon toss, and silver wheelbarrow race). Ragan got a gold medal for the sprints.

They also had a great time on this big slide at the park in Nezperce. I'm not sure if they've ever seen such a big slide - they don't make them that big anymore!

We took lots of videos from the Kid's Games with our new camcorder so we'll post them once we figure out how!

4th of July

We took another trip to the Selway River for our second outing in the tent trailer! I'm pretty sure it is our best investment EVER!!

The Selway River was still running a little fast so we built a little pool close to shore so the kids could play in the water. Of course, we all ended up playing in it since it was over 90 degrees!

Cade had a great time camping again whether he was lounging in the hammock, searching for inch worms, playing in the water, riding bikes, or searching for more snails!!

Ragan also loves camping whether she was riding her bike, playing in the water, going for walks, and she even made us play school this time!
